One YEAR!

Hardly to believe that John and I have been married a year. Over the year a lot has happened much of which has been updated in the blog over the course of the year. But looking back I not sure that I would change a thing.

I know that challenges will come but with each other and seeking the Lord anything is possible.

Updates for the Month:

For our Anniversary we did a stay-cation. John didn't have school this week so we to couple days off from work for our Stay-cation. We went to Grapevine Mills Mall to go to Rainforest Cafe, Build a Bear, Medevil Times, and chuck E Cheese all over the course of 3 days. We had a lot of fun and I would so do it again.

Oh the Weather

I know its been a while since I last gave some updates with the Deans. For excuses I really don't have any other than it has been just per laziness on my part.

What brings me to my blog this morning is the weather. The weather outside feels SO nice as appose to the extreme Texas heat or the crazy ice storm we had at the first part of the month. I mean last night I slept with the windows open because it felt so nice. This type of weather reminds me of my days in Arkansas. It's days like to day that remind me how I didn't want to spend time in doors and that the campus seem, oh so lively! I wish Texas could have more days like this with cool weather and nice breezes!

This Feb. month a lot has happened. For one I turn a quarter of century old, I am 25 years old. An age I never thought I would be as a kid. Do I feel older? not really, just feeling like my young adult years are fading away.

One the of presents that I got for my birthday this year, aside from what I call my birthday snow was 2 dwarf hamster(pictures to come later) they are so cute! There names are Rollie and Skittles. John, got them for me. We love having them at our house.

John, got a calling at church, he is one of the ward missionaries.
t
Our niece, Felicity celebrated her 2nd birthday and our nephew Cole will soon be celebrating his 5th birthday towards the end of the month.

I tell you January and Febuary certainly have a lot of birthdays!

Oh, and John and I our getting closer to our 1st anniversary! Hard to believe that we have been married almost a year now.

That's all for the Dean happens for the moment!

in Memory of Friskey

Friskey the cat was born in April of 1993 and ran away to die in December of 2010. He was 17 years old, which I know is old for a cat. He was a best friend to me and my family.

I was nearly 8 years old when I got Friskey , from one of the second grade teachers at my elementary school, in GA. At the time I wanted a girl cat, bus she told me that they were meaner, so I got a boy cat instead. And he became one of the loves of my life.

I remember when we first got him the first few night he sat in between the kitchen and the dining room and meow very loudly because he miss his cat family.

As he got older there would be times that he would try to run away, but he was too scared to go far. He hid in the woods behind our trailer in Tennessee, under neath the trailer but he always came home meowing because he was hungry.

When my sister and I got older we took out our baby doll furniture out of our rooms and put in the living room as it was going to be put in the shed later that week. But before the doll furniture made it to the shed, Friskey claimed a piece all his own seat.

One night when the family was out in the living room watching TV, Friskey decide to jump into the baby doll high chair and sit. This seat became his and from that point on till the time that he died it would be his seat. It was funny to see him do this and there was a time that he actually at his cat food from it!

Then there was the time that Friskey food was kept in the cabinet and he was really a smart cat, because when his food dish was empty or the food was not up to his taste he would use his paw to open the cabinet where the food was kept. He would keep this up till someone would feed him.

During our many moves, Friskey has traveled by RV which he tried to go to the back of it but my dad held him down and told him he couldn’t go there. Traveled by van which was being tow by a moving truck and finally by car.

Friskey surely used all of his nine lives he used one those up when he got stuck in a couch for 3 days.

Whenever I was sad he would come sit near me or at the foot of my bed, he did that for most of the family too.

He was a good cat, very different than most other cats.

Some of Friskey's favorite foods aside from his Cat Chow were, dirtoto chips, chicken, and meatloaf and tuna.

Friskey the cat you will be miss.

it's Jan... and ten months

Hard to believe another year has come and gone and now its nearly the end of the month. Last week we celebrated John's 26th birthday!

And tomorrow John and I will be an aunt and uncle again! As we welcome Carolyn's little baby into the world. They are having a boy and naming him William Rylie(sp?)

And to top things off John starts school tomorrow.

Oh, and how could I forget that this month made 10 months since John and I were married. It is hard to believe that its been that long, to me it feels like a life time.

2010 Year End Review

Once again it’s time for my yearly review. This is a tradition that I have been doing for quite some time. I will have to say it is something that I really enjoy doing because it gives me a chance to think about some of highlight that has happen this year. So below is a Moment in my Life (with now some add bonus, Moments in the Life of the Deans)

January

I move back home to Dallas and I spend Christmas with my husband’s family. (This marked my second Christmas ever away from my parents, who now live in Florida.) I also move in with John’s grandmother, Mini Mama to live with her till John and I get married. I am working on wedding plans. My fiancĂ© (now husband) celebrates his 25th birthday. John also gets a car off of Crag’s list. We name him Dno. I also get a job at bank of America in the telesales department. (Later on in the year I would learn that I would be doing many types of calling.)

February

I celebrate my 24th birthday and also learn that my family now has a lot of birthdays this month. (They go as followed, my mom (Beth), Felicity, Me, Aunt Jan, Harrison, Cole, and Justin.) I have a bridal shower and my mom comes into town.

March

I go to the temple for the first time, a very special day in my book. I also get married to my best friend John. We spent our honeymoon in San Antonio Texas.

April

Not sure what exciting thing happened this month but John works on a project a school about going green. So he tried to get his parents to go green by getting a recycling bin for their house.

May

Busy first two weekends of the month, one my sister Lindsey gets married and I participated in my graduation ceremony at UAM. I also get to see some of my friends whom I miss dearly. John also finishes up another semester at Brookharved.

June

Holly-John’s mom, John and I along with some help from Carlyon and Mike and my sister play Extreme Home Makeover. We paint and clean-up three rooms in the house. (His parents room, Harrison and hunters) While they were away at Boy Scout high adventure camp for two weeks. I also start watching my Nephew, Cole on the weekends.

July

As cheesy as this sounds I finish my quarter’s map that I start back in 1999 when they came out with a quarter designs for each state. John and I also go to Texas Ranger Baseball game. (By year’s end we would attend two more, one more home game and another at an away game in Florida against the Rays). This month I get my first and hopefully last crown on one of my teeth.

August

We go to the beach for a week with my parents, grandparents, and my sister’s family. John also starts school again. We get into our first wreck, John was driving. Getting our car fixed cost $1700. We also had gone through the summer with no AC as result of what happened in February with Dno.

September

I get a new calling a church Relief society blogger where I Spotlight someone every month. I watch Felicity for a couple days while her dad was at work and her mom was out of town. It’s a lot of fun being an aunt! I also taught her about painting.

October

We move out to a place on our own! Dno our car also passed away the same week, just to bring him back to the bear minimum of life it would cost $5000! We decided to go and see about getting a used car. We found one and named him Champoin”aka Brownine”.

November

We spend thanksgiving with John’s parents and Lindsey and Justin come over too. John stays busy with studying. My mom also comes for a visit and stays at our new pad!

December

John passes all of his classes! My friend Pam comes to visit. I put up a tree in our apt and start my Christmas shopping. I also go to the dentist to find out that I have three cavities and John had none! This is John and I first Christmas together as a married couple.

As I look back over the course of the year, it’s been a great year! One that has been filled with many different memories and some that may have been not so pleasant. But I am so grateful for my family and my friends who once again made this year one that is most memorable. It’s time to say good bye to 2010 and welcome 2011!
